What is UNAP?
The
United Nations Association of Pakistan (UNAP) is the peoples movement
in support of UNITED NATIONS .Our objective is to fulfill fundamental
functions: to maintain international peace and security, to promote
development and to uphold human rights around the world.
UNA Pakistan offers you the opportunity to be involved in the wide
range of issues that confront the United Nations and Pakistan from
human rights to peacekeeping, from greenhouse gases to clean water.
The main purpose of UNA Pakistan is to promote the objectives of
the United Nations and its specialized agencies in Pakistan, by
creating awareness among the people about EIGHT Millennium Development
Goals.
To accomplish these objectives, we hold seminars, awareness campaigns,
workshops through electronic and print media. The Eight Millennium
Goals are as follows:

Eradicate extreme
poverty and Hunger
2.
Achieve universal primary
education
3.
Promote gender equality
and empower women
4.
Reduce child mortality
5.
Improve maternal health
6.
Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria
and other diseases
7.
Ensure environmental sustainability
8.
Develop a global partnership
for development
The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range
from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and
providing universal primary education, all by the target date of
2015 – form a blueprint agreed to by all the world’s
countries and all the world’s leading development institutions.
They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of
the world’s poorest.

UNA
Pakistan strives to focus its programs and activities around the
vital concerns of the United Nations, by involving the leadership
from all sections of society so as to make them broad based and
effective.

UNAP
maintains close liaisons with government organizations, media and
diplomatic missions.
•
UNAP has already
created a conducive accredited academic facility and harnessed social
circles of the country through numerous activities like lectures,
seminars, symposiums, debates, competitions, observance of U.N.
days and exhibitions.
